Opening ceremony: A night to remember

This was a Sunday night October 13th which will live long in our memory.
One hour before the Opening ceremony starts, the Stadium was already full!
4000 people in the pitch and 5000 outside watched through the giant video walls the spectacular opening ceremony.
It had it all: the famous music group Onirama and a Champions League winner, Djibril Cissé, spinning decks, making this night thrilling!
And soccer games are still going on. Stay tuned!

Rethymno is considered to be a famous weddingdestination in Greece. An unexpected incident happened in the Leisure LeaguesStadium on Thursday, October 16th , just before the game between Lithuania-Whalesstarts.
The Lithuanian football player S. Savickas came up with an incredible wedding proposal: he kneeled at the center of the pitch and presented an engagement ring to his beloved one, taken completely by surprise!
The crowd applauded in wild excitement.

The World Cup draw took place and the participating nations, from across Europe, Asia, America, and Africa know now the teams which they will meet at the group stages, and the path that they will have to follow to progress to the final!
Greece is the leading team of Group A and is about to face Egypt, Latvia, Azerbaijan, and Mexico. The World Cup festivities will begin with a spectacular opening ceremony that will take place on Saturday 13 October @ 21:00.
Away from the football, there is going to be plenty of fall events to excite the spectators, who will be able to enjoy the gorgeous autumn sunshine on an Island that was voted as one of the top five tourist destinations on the planet. The build-up is already underway, the planning done and by October the excitement will be at fever pitch as Crete 2019 is ready to go!
