Cretan Way of Life: Mediterranean Tradition & Applications in Modern Times
International Scientific Conference
Rethymno is excited to host a special event promoting the unique "treasures" of the Cretan land. The international scientific conference, "Cretan Way of Life: Mediterranean Tradition & Applications in Modern Times," brought together more than 150 scientists from top institutions worldwide.
They immersed themselves in the traditional Cretan way of life, from baking and savoring fresh bread to indulging in fresh olive oil and tasting local wines and cheeses.
The event featured a relaxing time at the rakokazano, complemented by cool raki and sweet thyme honey. The day concluded with a joyous dance by the 'Omilos Vrakoforon' Dance Club of Crete.
Professor Antonia Trihopopoulou from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens commended the event's continuity and emphasized the significance of wild greens and Mediterranean beverages for health.
Overall, the conference not only provided a platform for academic discussions but also offered a unique and immersive experience in the rich cultural and culinary heritage of Crete.
